Use of wildcards (*) in Edit Sitenames
07.04.20 um 00:25:22

Hello again, all.

Under Andvanced Configuration | Edit Sitenames, I have entries for most of my sites, and it works great.

However, as I am tracking everything on my site, some entries show up in WebStats that I wish to amalgamate, if at all possible.  an example would be WebStats itself, which produces the following entries:

webstats/archive.php|Webstats Admin
webstats/pws.php|Website Statistics
webstats/config/edit_site_name.php|Webstats Admin
webstats/config/edit_string_replace.php|Webstats Admin
webstats/func/func_last_logins_show.php|Webstats Admin
webstats/index.php|Website Statistics
webstats/pws.php|Website Statistics
webstats/archive.php|Website Statistics Admin
webstats/config/edit_css.php|Website Statistics Admin
webstats/config/edit_site_name.php|Website Statistics Admin
webstats/config/edit_string_replace.php|Website Statistics Admin
webstats/config/syscheck.php|Website Statistics Admin
webstats/func/func_last_logins_show.php|Website Statistics Admin
webstats/config/delete_archive.php|Website Statistics Admin
webstats/config/admin.php|Website Statistics Admin
webstats/config/backup.php|Website Statistics Admin
webstats/config/delete_backup.php|Website Statistics Admin
webstats/config/delete_index.php|Website Statistics Admin
webstats/config/file_version.php|Website Statistics Admin
webstats/config/repair.php|Website Statistics Admin
webstats/config/reset.php|Website Statistics Admin
webstats/sysinfo.php|Website Statistics Admin

My question is, is it possible to use wildcards in the Edit Sitenames setting, for example:

webstats/config/*.*|Website Statistics Admin (which doesn't work of course  Zwinkernd).

I have other sections of my site which also produce a high number of entries, all related to administration of my site, and which I would like to have listed just as Main Website Administration.

Is it somehow possible to use wildcards, and if so, what would be the proper format?

Thank you in advance, and have a pleasant day.  Be safe.

Regards,
John

Hi John,

unfortunately wildcards are not supported right now.

Let us check if this could be done without too many efforts.

By the way: we live near your previous settlements, Kleine Brogel and Nörvenich Air Bases Zwinkernd

Thx and all the best

I actually lived in the Baden-Baden area, from 1979-1983, as I was with the Kanadische Luftwaffe in Fliegerhorst Baden-Söllingen, but we flew into Kleine Brogel occasionally.  I was only at Fliegerhorst Nörvenich once, for an airshow in 1982.  It's been almost 40 years, but I miss Germany very much!  I retire next year, and would love to retire in Germany, but...

Please do not spend too much time seeing if wildcards will work.  It's just that as I enter in new items to Sitenames, new ones pop in the bottom of the list.

Is there currently a way for me to "view" the file that contains all of my Site Visit pages?  If so, I could then view the file, and add them all at the same time to my Sitenames in WebStats.

Thank you in advance, and have a great day.  Be safe.

Regards,
John

Please disregard the above.  I managed, although only temporarily, to expand the number of rows displayed under Site Visits, so I could view more than the normal number of entries (those with lower visits).

In Modules, I raised the Page Impressions setting to 999 to see the extra lines.  At first, I could see 129 lines instead of the default 29 lines, but for some reason now I am seeing only 29 lines, regardless of any higher number that I input.   For example, currently it shows (999/29).

When I clear my Sitenames, I can see 129 lines.  However, when I add entries to Sitenames, I can see only 29 lines.

Upon further investigation, it seems that when you wrote phpWebstat, you did not take into account crazy people like me that has a ridiculously-high number of entries in my Sitenames Laut lachend.

When I split my Sitenames entries by 1/3, I could see about 69 lines each time, however with all Sitenames combined, I can see only 29 lines.

If the large number of entries (or total number of characters) that I have in my Sitenames is indeed what is causing the problem, is there a file or setting in phpWebstat that I can modify or change, in order to allow phpWebstat to display more lines in Site Visits?  This would only be temporary, in order for me to see more entries than normal, in order to keep my Sitenames up-to-date.

Thank you in advance, and have yourselves a great day.

Tschüß,
John
