PHP 5.3 problem
19.09.09 um 21:55:06

Hi

I just upgraded my hosted webserver to PHP 5.3 and since that my webstat has started to act strange.

When I try to recreate cache - the process stops and dont finish.

After  I changed back to PHP 5.2.9 I could recreate the cache.

Hope someone can figure out what is wrong.

Best regards,

Henrik

Hi Henrik,

have you modified this files :
cache_creator.php
cache_creator_counter.php
counter.php?
If not - copy again these files in the Stat directory and test the cache recreate once more.

Hi Husky

Thank you very much for your reply.
¨¨
I have changed the 3 files from 86.400 to 3.600 seconds.

I tried changing it back to 3600 seconds and then its working on PHP 5.3

I then tried changing to 86.400 seconds again and deleted the cache - then its not working in PHP 5.3.

I finally changed my PHP to 5.2.9 and then the delete cache is working with 3.600 seconds.

Hope the above make sence - otherwise please let me know if you need more information.

Best regards,

Henrik

Btw. How do I download a fresh copy of the webstat without beeing a new customer?

Hi Henrik,

you can use your last download files to exchange the named files. Are you not longer owner of the original files Zwinkernd - ask the Admins in this Forum for a "shortcut" download, ok?

Question: Did you compare the "Max Execution Time" of both version of the PHP setup's? Under the PHP 5.3.0 is it just 30 sec. - that is not really much.  Traurig I work with 50.000 sec.  ...

Hi Husky

I tried changing the 'Max execution time' to 300 seconds - but its still not working.

When trying do delete cache in PHP 5.3 it sometimes goes to 89% and sometimes only 2% but it never finishs.

Best regards,

Henrik

Hi Husky

I managed to find the original files and when I delete cache with PHP 5.3 its working. The only thing I have changed in the files are 86.400 to 3.600 seconds.

Henrik

Hi again

This is very strange. Now I can not delete counter cache - and it does not matter if its PHP 5.2.9 or PHP 5.3

I just pop-up and there is no progress at all. I have also tried uploading a fresh set of files - still no luck.

Have also tried with both original and modified files:
cache_creator.php
cache_creator_counter.php
counter.php?

Best regards,

Henrik

Hi Henrik,

just work for the moment with the original files until it works fine - then you can test it with the modified files, ok? I've just seen the modified files on your Server ...

Did you run the repair file from the Stat?
Have you tried to use the IE for the Cache rebuild?

Hi Husky

I think I have it working now.

I deleted all within 'stat' folder except BACKUP, CONFIG, LOG folders.

Then I uploaded all files again and then it worked.

After that I uploaded my modified files and its still working.

About the repair file - I havent tried that.

It seems like my stat is counting too low visitors (compared to a whos-online script - www.silkeborg-vejret.dk/whos-online.php) - would it be an idea to run the repair file?

If so - how do I do that?

Thanks for your help - its highly appreciated.

Have a nice day.

Best regards,

Henrik

Hi Henrik,

if you are comparing with other Statistic-Tools - be sure that they are working with the same method like the PHP Web Stat! Only then you can trust the numbers. Zwinkernd

Maybe it's a good idea to run the repair tool. Follow this instruction:
http://www.php-web-statistik.de/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1246908914/0#0

But .....never forget to make a backup befor you run a tool like this! Durchgedreht

Hi Husky

Thank you very much.

Just one thing - in the download area the 'logfile repair kit' is for version 3.x - can I use it for version 4.0 too?

Best regards,

Henrik

Hi again

OK  - I successfully runned repair.php and there were errors in almost all the files.

They are now corrected by the repair.php.

Great - thanks for the help.

Best regards,

Henrik

Hi again

OK spoke too soon - my stat and counter is not okay.

I have tried deleting cache - but it stops again after about 30 seconds.  unentschlossen

It happens in both IE7, IE8 and FF3.

After changing to PHP 5.2.9 it works so it must be a problem with PHP 5.3

Best regards,

Henrik
