Titel: Advice needed on setting up Web-Stats
Beitrag von bubbles1 am 17.01.08 um 20:36:57
Hi all

I am after some advice on how best to set up Web-Stat v3.1.22 for my site which has 2 domain names.

I have a domain name 'mysite1.com' which has its own web space.

Also I have a domain name 'mysite2.com' which is forwarded into a sub-directory, 'tc', which is within the web space of 'mysite1.com'.

So, the directory layout of the 'mysite1.com' web space is:

'/' has the index.php for 'mysite1.com' (i.e. the 'root' of 'mysite1.com' web space)

'/tc' has the index.php for 'mysite2.com' (i.e. a sub-directory off the 'root' called 'tc')

I have tried various settings within Web-Stat's Admin Centre but without success.

What should the settings be for me to have separate statistics for each of the 2 domain names: 'mysite1.com' and 'mysite2.com'?

i.e.
     'Absolute path of your domain'
     'Start page of your domain'
     'Path to your stat'
     'The stat tracks for whom?'
     'Domain Array'
     'Dynamic URL Parameters'

Also will I have to install Web-Stat twice, one for each of the 2 sites in their respective 'stat' directories (i.e. /stat and /tc/stat)?

Many thanks.

AT first I think it wont work - but:

1. I've an modification for it (but you have to wait til Fabruary)
2. Provide me a link and your password (via PM) and I will look on it

To 1 I've a stat for testing. if you want to try it: http://teststat.petrosilius.de (just direct your JS to it)

Is the Home-Destination from 'mysite2.com' regular the 'tc' sub-directory (configuration at the ISP)? In that case - you can work with two Stats for two Domain.

two stats wont work either:
mysite1.com/tc would be recorded in the wrong statistik

Mmmmmmmmmmmmh

One Space - two domains - clear destination (Sub-directory)
for the Domains and every destination have a own stat - it doesn't work?  :-/

Ups - then is somthing wrong on MY Server! It works perfect!  ;D

Husky
P.s.: Rumbelstilzchen, I doesn't talk about a redirection and that's the reason for my question to bubbles1!  :)

Thanks for the reply.

My Hosting Provider allows me to set up, through their 'Control Panel', 'web forwarding' for

'www.mysite2.com' to 'www.mysite1.com/tc' which is what I have done.

The domain name 'mysite2.com is 'Parked' and doesn't have any web space allocated to it, and

that's why I am using web forwarding for it to use the web space within 'mysite1.com'.

Consequently, 'mysite2.com' actually uses the directories within 'mysite1.com/tc'.

Thanks

I think what you want is already done - you can test it wether it fits to your needs.

But I cannot provide you "your own" files until February

Thanks for the reply.

Do I just have to modify the settings on my site, to reflect the gist of the settings you have used within the Admin-Centre on your test site http://teststat.petrosilius.de ?

Thanks
